In the News: Post Magazine (NYC) resently published my article on my business, DFRFX and my work on the "Jonestown" transfer for Seventh Arts Releasing (Hollywood, CA). It was really cool to see my article on the same page as the posting on Madonna's music video. Happy Holidays 2007. Bob Durrenberger, Post-Producer.

DFRFX at Cannes: Harold Garroz and Veronica Perez informed us that their short film "Atenea y Afrodita" was accepted for screening at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival and that screening was a big success. DFRFX is proud to have transferred their short film to 35mm and this is the first screening of our work at this festival.

PUMA ran TV commercial spots that aired during the 2006 World Cup Games broadcasts. PUMA's US associate chose DFRFX to transfer the DigiBeta master of these commercials to 35mm motion picture film for theatrical viewing. Later, DFRFX transferred their Christmas 2006 commercials. June 2006.

Miguel Angel Vega's new feature film, "El Robo" was transferred to 35mm by DFRFX. A non-tape media - a Quicktime data file from a Mac firewire hard drive - was supplied as the source. Also, an audio remix by Bill Harris, Salsa Steel, (and myself) was performed using ProTools. This feature was released in theaters in Mexico and USA.

Latsfilm's feature "Max Headroom" was transferred from PAL DVCAM to 35mm by DFRFX. This story of relationships was improvised by actors and the film has a cool blue tinted look. Theatrical release of the feature occurred in Riga, Latvia and eastern europe.

John Schnall's short film, "The Binding Of Isaac", received the "Director's Choice" Award at the 2005 Black Maria Film Festival which toured the USA in 2005 and has also been selected to be showcased at 2005 Ottawa Intl. Animation Festival. DFRFX transferred the DVDROM animation files to 35mm.

Seventh Art Releasing, Hollywood, CA, has selected DFRFX to transfer their trailer of their distribution - "Word Wars", a documentary on "the" Scrabble contest. The trailer screened both in LA and NYC just before the film's premiere. In 2006, DFRFX transferred the trailer for another project, "Jonestown".

Fallen World Productions has produced a documentary on the controversy surrounding the Mel Gibson film, "The Passion of The Christ". Fallen World has selected DFRFX to transfer the trailer of their documentary, which was filmed using the Panasonic AG-DVX100A camera, to 35mm and was shown in theaters in Sacramento, CA. November 2004.

Glen Smith of Dini Films International has selected DFRFX to transfer a dream sequence for his latest feature film, "The Hungry Woman". A sequence specially processed with in-camera effects, enhanced digitally at DFRFX, was sepia-toned after transfer to 35mm and was included in the feature. This film hit theaters in October, that year. May 2004.

Producer Alan Coton selected DFRFX to transfer his feature film: "SOBA" ("Beaten"). The film was shot with the ARRI BL-35, telecined and all footage editted to a DigiBeta master which was transferred to 35mm by DFRFX. The film has screened at festivals in Europe and South America, and is going into theatrical distribution soon. February 2004.

Congrads to Antony Vidmer, AWV Communications. Antony has won "Best Director" award at the 2003 San Diego Film Festival for his work, "Stuey". DFRFX transfered the trailer for the feature starring Michael Imperioli ("The Sopranos") and Pat Morita ("Karate Kid" and "Happy Days"). "Stuey" premiered in Nashville TN on September 26.

Did you see us at the LA Shorts Fest in September? DFRFX completed a DV to Film Transfer for Bill Boyd, DNA. His short film, entitled "El De Los Guantes" ("The Gloved One") has been accepted to this festival that takes place in Hollywood and has also qualified for Academy consideration. This film was shot with Panavision 35mm cameras, footage was telecined, edited and a DigiBeta master was transferred to 35mm at DFRFX. We think it is a winner. Good Luck, Bill.

Cinema Society of San Diego just celebrated its twentieth aniversary. DFRFX transferred the new animated opening logo from Quicktime digital CDROM media to 35mm for the event. Four Square Productions ("Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes") produced the animation.

Palm Springs Intl. Film Festival trailer transfer was completed by DFRFX. GraphTek Advertising animated a 3D windmill that turns into film reels for an appealing ad for ticket sales for the Festival in Palm Springs. The trailer screened in a number of theaters in Palm Springs. DFRFX film recorded the animation.

SIGGRAPH Ho... DFRFX is an Official Sponsor of 2003 SIGGRAPH. DFRFX assisted in the filmout of the "Best Animated Short", "Eternal Gaze", for the screening at the Electronic Theater by recording the credit roll that was specific to the SIGGRAPH screening. Congrads to Sam Chen for an award-winning animation, which has qualified for Academy Award competition.

ARTos Cultural Foundation (Achilleas Kentonis) short film, "The Choros Maker", won the "Best Documentary" award in its debut at the Cyprus 2nd Annual Short and Documentary Film Festival. DFRFX transferred this miniDV PAL master to 35mm.

Artist Etienne Delessert and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra successfully completed perhaps the first dual screened, multi-media concert, entitled "Mother Goose Suite". DFRFX recorded Etienne's animated illustrations which provides the visuals seen by the audience, on two screens, a 60 foot screen where 35mm film is projected and on a 20 foot screen where a videotape is projected. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra performed Ravel in concert in April 2003 in Atlanta GA.

Producer Pav Grover has selected DFRFX to transfer his movie trailer to 35mm Film. This trailer is the ad for the feature film entitled: "Unspeakable", starring Dennis Hopper ("Easy Rider") and Dina Meyer ("Byrds Of Prey"). DFRFX transferred the DigitalBetacam tape to 35mm film and re-mastered the audio to theater playout specs.

Animator Steve Belfer, has placed at Toronto Online Film Fest. Steve works as Manager of Animation at Warner Bros. Online, and has finished his latest short, "Colordog" (independant of WB). DFRFX transferred this Flash animation to 35mm.

Breckenridge Festival Ho... KDI Films, Inc. has selected DFRFX to assist in the transfer their HD 24p feature, "Welcome To The Neighborhood", to 35mm. Stars Michael Cudlitz ("Band Of Brothers") and Tia Texada ("Glitter", "Shadow Of Doubt") and, yes, it made Breckenridge Festival of Film and others.

Animator John Schnall's latest short, "NYC 9/11", aired on September 11, on Cinemax and resently, Anima Mundi, the International Animation Festival of Brazil and in the US at. DFRFX transferred the short to 35mm, from digital CGI. John's work has been exhibited in the World Animation Celebration and in Spike and Mike's Festival of Animation.

Fifteen prints of the "Testi Restaurant" trailer were seen in theaters in Istanbul, Turkey. DFRFX transferred a PAL video from a Quicktime file, unsqueezed the 16:9 anamorphic image (Sony Digibeta 790 16:9 camera) and recorded to 35mm for the client.

holywoodmedia.com released its latest feature, "Rewrite", on February 15, 2002 at the Academy 6 Cinema in Pasedena, CA. DFRFX transferred the trailer of the feature, from NTSC miniDV to 35mm film.
